Understanding Homeopathy and DesBio’s Comprehensive Approach

What is Homeopathy? Homeopathy is a system of integrative medicine that focuses on temporarily relieving symptoms by administering minute doses of a remedy. The fundamental principle of homeopathy is “like cures like,” meaning that a substance producing symptoms in a healthy person can be used in a highly diluted form to alleviate similar symptoms in an individual. Derived from the Greek words “homeo” (similar) and “pathos” (suffering), homeopathy aims to stimulate the body’s natural defense.

DesBio Comprehensive Homeopathy
Dr. Bruce Shelton, the developer of DesBio Homeopathics, combined extensive homeopathic knowledge with years of clinical experience to create condition-based formulas that are easy to incorporate into various healthcare practices. Prior to working with DesBio, Dr. Shelton was a medical director for Heel, a German homeopathic company, where he helped create many formulations still used today. Twenty years ago, DesBio offered Dr. Shelton a creative outlet for his homeopathic genius, and he developed new formulations using powerful homeopathic principles such as Burgi groups (the same dilution of different homeopathics that work together) and chords (the same homeopathic in different dilutions). Dr. Shelton was instrumental in formulating the Comprehensive Detox Kit, a key component in many DesBio protocols. Although he passed away in February 2016, his legacy lives on with DesBio’s experienced formulators, like Dr. Todd Rowe, a psychiatrist and homeopathic doctor who adds emotional and mental depth to DesBio’s line of products.

The Foundations of Homeopathy
Homeopathy, founded by Dr. Samuel Hahnemann in the late 18th century, is based on the principle of “like cures like.” Hahnemann discovered that substances causing symptoms in a healthy individual could, in small doses, treat similar symptoms in a sick person. His rigorous experimentation and methodical approach resulted in a comprehensive framework for homeopathic medicine, detailed in his seminal works, the “Materia Medica” and “The Organon of Medicine.” These texts emphasize the importance of dilution and potentization of remedies. Hahnemann’s legacy was profound, influencing generations of practitioners and establishing homeopathy as a respected practice within alternative medicine, governed by standards such as the Homeopathic Pharmacopeia of the United States (HPUS). His methodologies and the philosophical underpinnings of homeopathy continue to guide contemporary practices and the development of new homeopathic remedies.

DesBio’s Unique Approach

Complex Homeopathy, unlike classical homeopathy, which typically uses a single remedy at a time, DesBio employs a complex or combination approach involving formulas containing multiple homeopathic remedies tailored to address various symptoms simultaneously. Dr. Shelton emphasized that this approach allows for a broader and more targeted response, as the body can selectively utilize the specific components it needs from the complex formula.

Introduction to Phase Remedies

In his webinar “Introducing Homeopathy with Phase Remedies,” Dr. Shelton introduced and explained the concept of phase remedies based on Herring’s Laws of Cure, which state that healing occurs from the top down, from the inside out, and in the reverse order of the appearance of symptoms. Phase remedies support the body’s natural healing processes by addressing specific stages or “phases” of disease as categorized in homotoxicology, a field of homeopathy that views symptoms as manifestations of the body’s fight against toxins. Dr. Shelton explained how diseases progress through various phases from excretion to serious degenerative states and discussed DesBio’s line of phase remedies, formulated to help regress diseases from more severe to milder phases, promoting the body’s return to health.

Throughout the webinar, Dr. Shelton used practical examples and case studies to illustrate how DesBio’s remedies could be integrated into protocols. He demonstrated the use of a computerized repertory that helps homeopaths select appropriate remedies based on symptomatology, reflecting the sophistication of DesBio’s approach that blends traditional homeopathic practices with modern technology to enhance practitioner efficiency and treatment outcomes. Dr. Shelton encouraged practitioners to embrace these advanced homeopathic methods and integrate DesBio’s complex formulas and phase remedies into their practices. He stressed the importance of understanding the body’s natural healing processes and using a comprehensive approach to support these processes effectively.

DesBio continues to pioneer advancements in homeopathy, providing practitioners with tools to address complex health issues holistically. By harnessing the synergistic effects of multiple remedies and supporting the body’s phased healing responses, DesBio empowers healthcare professionals to achieve greater success in patient care.
