A summary of some of the information shared on our recent webinar with Ashley Beckman, DAOM, L.Ac.: The Importance of Detoxing from Mold and Mycotoxins

Fatigue is a common health concern that affects many people worldwide. While there are many factors that can contribute to fatigue, one root cause that is often overlooked is exposure to mold and mycotoxins.

Mold is a type of fungus that can grow in damp and humid environments, such as bathrooms, kitchens, and basements. When mold spores are inhaled or ingested, they can produce mycotoxins, which are toxic chemicals that can cause a variety of health problems, including fatigue.

Symptoms of mold exposure can vary from person to person but may include fatigue, joint pain, headaches, hormonal imbalances, digestive issues, skin issues, chronic sinus infections, and more. Mold can also suppress the immune system, allowing other pathogens such as Lyme, heavy metals, parasites, viruses, and bacteria to flourish.

It is important to note that not all mold is visible, and bleach should not be used to clean mold as it can make the problem worse. Additionally, over 50% of homes in the United States have toxic mold in them.

To recover from mold exposure, it is recommended to seek out a mold detox specialist, test for mold in the home and body, remove mold from the home and body through cellular detox, and replenish, nourish, and optimize the body. Eating an immune-supportive diet that includes healthy fats, clean protein, organic produce, bone broth, and probiotic-rich foods can also help support the body’s recovery.

In summary, fatigue can be caused by a variety of factors, including exposure to mold and mycotoxins. It is important to be aware of the symptoms of mold exposure and to take steps to recover from it, including seeking out a mold detox specialist, testing for mold, removing mold from the home and body, and supporting the body through proper nutrition.
