Deseret Biologicals (DesBio)- Social Media Guidelines for Sponsored Content

We love hearing about your experiences with DesBio on social media. Before you post anything, however, we ask that you make sure your post is truthful and non-deceptive.

It is your responsibility to comply with the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) Endorsement Guides, along with the terms and conditions for any social media platforms that you use to discuss DesBio products. We have provided for your convenience some of the most important rules:

If we have given you a product to try, or otherwise incentivized you to promote our products, anything you post about DesBio or our products or educational events is considered “sponsored”—be it in a product review, reel, blog, podcast, online forum, webinar, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.

All sponsored content should be transparent, truthful, and non-deceptive. Additionally, It is your responsibility to comply with the Federal Trade Commission’s (FTC) Endorsement Guides, along with the terms and conditions for any social media platforms that you use to discuss DesBio products and or educational events. 

In short, disclosures should be clear and conspicuous and should be in plain and unambiguous language. This means that it shouldn’t take a reasonable consumer to figure out the material connection that exists between you and DesBio.  We have provided for your convenience, some of the most important rules and included Links to the FTC Guidelines & to our Social Media Guidelines for Sponsored Content.

Disclose your Relationship to DesBio

Your post should make your relationship with us clear, so that customers who view your post understand the context in which you created it. For example, when you introduce yourself, make it clear by saying “Hi, I am _____x_____, in partnership with DesBio, etc..”.  Also, In any post or reel description, include the hashtag #sponsored #desbio_partner .

Your #sponsored #desbio_partner disclosure should be clear and conspicuous, meaning in a readable font, in a place that viewers will see it, and in close proximity to the sponsored content—it should not be hidden beneath a “More” link, in the comment section below the post, in the middle of a video, etc. The Federal Trade Commission’s FAQ’s provide additional do’s and don’ts as to how and where to make this kind of disclosure.

Speak Truthfully

We’d love for you to try our products out and discuss with your followers. However, it is important that you describe our products accurately and follow our regulatory guidelines.

Note that DesBio products should not be referenced in relation to any disease or as a cure or treatment for any condition. DesBio protocols should not be used as examples of success in treating or curing patients or moving patient outcomes forward.

DesBio’s Moderation of Social Media Content

DesBio monitors social media content relating to our business, including sponsored posts. If we believe that your statements are false or misleading, we will contact you for a correction, and may consider ending our relationship with you.

Ultimately, it is your responsibility to make sure that your post is honest, transparent, truthful, and compliant with applicable laws and with the terms and conditions for the social media platforms where you post.
